The Bekel Beach is the newest addition to Kerala’s destinations in international itineraries. The bay stretching to the south fringed with cliffs is picturesque. The 300 year old Bekel fort erected on a rock crop is the main attraction of the beach. The tide is so high that it often hits the citadel of the fort. The fort offers a stunning view of the beach.
The beach is less crowded, though the fort brings in good number of tourists. An ideal picnic spot for luxury lovers and back packers in the same measure.
